    Whethering a goat

As an update, I had the vet check them and he thought their "sacks" were too big to band. He did a manual testicle removal on both of them. A week and a half later they will rejoin their friends today. Thanks to all for the advice! Very much appreciated!

    Whethering a goat

Thank you for the replies. Based on the feedback, I will not band them. They are minis, but one of them has a pretty big set on him. It just seems too......uncomfortable to go the banding route.

Hello goat people. I have 2 goats, 7 months and 11 months. Is it too late to band them?

    Goats?

Good words of wisdom and advice here from multiple people! The best bet would be to get same gender, young goats at the same time. That way any hierarchy movements would be among goats that already know eachother. It would happen more naturally with less long term issues.

    Goats?

That's a handsome boy! My girl is 13 months and I got her with the idea of milk. I am worried about having a boy calf as I dont know if I have enough room to keep him, and I couldn't bear to sell him if he would become meat. I am researching AI sexes sperm to increase my chances of a female...

    Goats?

Congratulations on your decision to get goats! They are wonderful affectionate animals. I have 3 now. A 15 year old Nubian, a 6 month old Nigerian Dwarf and a 4 month old African Pygmy. The old man hangs out in the yard with my 2 spotted donkeys, 2 pigs, my Jersey cow and various ducks and...

    Fox ate 2 chickens!

Very sorry for your loss! I had a raccoon attack last week. One of the roosters definitely sacrificed himself. He's a hero. The raccoon got to one of my 12 hens. Ripped a giant gash across her chest. Fortunately, $600 later, she is fixed up and doing well. It was my fault because I got over...

    Muscovy Female Chicks

Does anyone have a recommendation on where I can get Muscovy females? The few places I found only do straight run. I have 6 males and 1 female so I need to at least even the number. I live on Long Island in NY.

    The Duck Thread

Thanks for positive share, Emily! I am really hoping she gets to hatch her own little ones. That would be really nice for her and me. :-)

    The Duck Thread

Hello all. One of my Muscovies laid about a dozen eggs a week and a half ago. She has been sitting on them like a good mom. I live on Long Island in NY and temps have been up and down between 50s and 20s at night. Any chance these eggs will hatch naturally?

    The Duck Thread

Hi. Wondering if anyone has experience or input on whether my Muscovies can hatch their eggs naturally during fall in Ny. They started laying 2 weeks ago. I was taking the eggs each day, but today they were actually still sitting on them when I got home and didn't even come out for dinner. I...
