Ok I thought I should do an introduction. My name is Karen and will be getting 12 Icelandic eggs tomorrow. I am new to Icelandics, but not to chickens. We suffered a tragic black bear attack last fall and lost all of our chickens, except one. So I am starting anew with Icelandics and only...
I am very excited, I will be getting a dozen Icelandic chicken eggs tomorrow. Any words of wisdom from the wise Icelandic sages here for tips or techniques for a successful hatch??

Hi
I am also from south shore of MA and looking for a few rare breed hatching eggs, I wanted either Sussex or Barnvelder. Do/will you sell a few eggs for hatching? In a month or two?
Thanks, Karen
Great coop.
A little off topic, what kind of dogs do you have? I have a dog I rescued from Belize(fell in love with her while on vacation) and she looks just like that from the back and I have no idea what she is?

I used them in the "sunroom" of my coop about 8 inches deep and they went into overdrive and heated up so hot the chickens would not cross them. I had to shovel them out 8 days after I put them in.
Good luck, maybe not so deep all at once like I did. Karen
