I use it. It almost certainly has a surfactant added so the oils mix with the water, which will create suds. If it didn't, the oils would separate from the water, making the product pretty useless.
I have a Plymouth BR and two Marans; the PBR is top of the pecking order.
Two days ago, I found one of her eggs in the middle of the coop and this morning found her egg smashed in the nesting box. What's going on here?

I bought two Marans who were the same age and size. The blue copper recently started laying, but the black copper, who is fully grown, has not developed a comb or wattles. Does this mean she will not lay?

No shortage of creepy crawlies here, where I used to have a manicured lawn... Still, I don't have small kids and the area is being put to better use, now. :)
My single hen, a Plymouth BR, doesn't much like the commercial layers mash. She ranges (and nearly destroys!) my garden, where she finds plenty of feed year round (I'm in Miami), and she loves the unshelled sunflower seeds, short grain brown rice and flax seeds I give her. She also gets lots of...
