    They're with the mother and have had access since day 1. I think they just lose waterproofing when they are intermediate between down and adult feathers. It should know how to get out though the silly thing!

    Yeah there's three. Not seen them for a week but semi-tamed their mum with mealworms last year and now they follow me everywhere. Can get in the way quite a lot. Haha

    Also, the little baby that was hatching after the rest died after it hatched :( but the other eight with the mum are doing fine. there she is with them. They're different sizes so think they may have hatched at different times

    Female was sitting on 19 eggs. There were 11 but then she got nest dumped. Now have 8 ducklings a week late. No idea what will happen to the other eggs!

    Count them when she gets off the nest while she's incubating. Just move the feathers apart and then put them back over when you've counted. She'll get back on.

    Just wondering, why do you only want one? I imagine it would get lonely, they don't really interact with other species.
