Of my original crew we had 10 RIR, 4 BO, and 2 GC. Then we added the EE roo. Now the original 16 where puchased day old's the week after Easter. Last month added the EE. After the flash flood we have 5 RIR (4 roos/dinner), 2 BO pullets, 1 GC pullet, and the EE roo. Don't want to start from...
Anyone near Azle have any EE or RIR pullets? I lost half my flock during last weeks flash flood. If not I guess I'll be going to first Monday in Weatherford this weekend to see what I can find.
Sorry it took so long to get back. Not really worried about their fat intake because of our cat. It kills stuff and the chickens then steal the carcass. Plus they free range from 5:30am till i get home around 7 or 8pm. I just want the filler they eat at night to be good for them.
They have a center near me. I'm interested in their 22% Start-Grow-Layer Krumble. Anyone used it/know what is in it/recommend using it? Currently using Texas Natural Feeds chick starter. I'm just trying to feed them good, if i can figure out how to feed them cheaper that would be great. Thanks...
Thanks. I've only had chickens since Easter. Now that we have them we are learning more every day. Ready for them to start laying. Still have a while to go i know. Thinking about adding some brahma to the mix, maybe some frizzled something also. Let them all go for a while and keep anything that...
I know Red Beard is a roo. When i got him two weeks ago i was told he is about 4-5 months old. Was also told he is Ameraucana/EE. My question is what color is he? I would like to get some pullets to go with him, to keep his coloring going in future generations. Thank you for your time and help!
I think he gets to stay. Kids named him Red Beard. Looks like my goatee. Guy at first Monday in weatherford said amuricana/ee i said I'll take him. What color would you call him? When will he molt so his clipped wing will grow out? He wabbles horribly when he shakes out.
Not yet. Maybe in a few weeks once I get the coop and enclosure done. Might build a tractor sled for some Wheaton marans for me, and after that building another coop so my loving wife can get her Brahmas. Time will tell. Chicken math or what? Thinking about some ducks next year? I dunno yet!
Was looking at chicks on Google they look like they might possibly be wheaton marans chicks to me. Not pure I'm sure but it would be cool to have fresh chocolate eggs every day. I also love how the roosters look.
So I just got new pics sent to me of my boy and his chicks. I assume no-one would want to see them. Am i right or wrong. Don't want to spam if it's not wanted.
