Hi Everyone,
I really need your help with a chicken problem. Last Thursday I went out and saw her away from the flock looking very tired and its wings looked droopy and it was tense. so I thought she was egg bound as I had had one less egg for about a week. i brought her...
Thank you mountain peeps that helped a lot have really enjoyed looking at all the links you sent me. Is there any way to get them to imprint. I just got 3 hens a week ago and obviously as they came from a farm they are not that friendly (but they are gettng better) so i really want friendly...
Getting day old chicks in 6 days and really want to find out as much as possible before then! If you could all tell me how to look after them, how to get them to imprint, what their brooder should contain and look like and tell me about your chick experiences. Thanks in advance for all advise
one of my girls is double the size of them she is more like a goose lol and she defends herself and the other girl lol they only get them when they want to be ....
hi i am also relatively new to BYC joined yesterday. i have ducks dogs and rabbits all with their own little quirky personalities hope to share experiences and get answers to some questions as well
is there a drake with her and usually ducks sit on them for 28 days Muscovy ducks sit for 35 if they are a different colour i would remove them but have you candled them to see development???/
the boys are really nice lookin but super nasty in mating season i also have a Aylesburyduck as one of my khaki Campbellfemales died and the other one got really depressed
thank you sooo much i might put nets around the enclosure so there is no way they can escape. you would wonder why they would go into hormone overload if they have a girl each
usually they pass it thru but if it looks in serious distress go to a vet if it doent look distressed leave it a day and if it is still there take it to a vet. Hope this helps
i have 4 khaki Campbell 2 boys 2 girls and i my last incubation was awful as i let the mother sit on them and at the end she went nuts and started to take them out of the eggs and killed them sooo this summer i am going to put them into the incubator
i'm hoping on getting to raise ducklings this summer in the incubator as last summer one of my females sat on 13 eggs and then on the last few days started to crack the eggs and pull the babies out so i am never allowing them to sit on eggs again even though she died a few weeks after
i have 2 drakes and 2 girl khaki Campbell's. when i walk into my garden they fly over a six foot fence with wire wrapped around it to attack me and my dogs. i don't care if they nip me but they really go for my dogs eyes and recently they have been flying down into a bit our neighbours share...
