Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

Ok, dropping out of lurkerdom again. Coupla things I want to mention. I cannot tell you how many times I'm reading this thing and I remember this is a guy who just wanted some eggs for breakfast..... And now he has a "bloody water buffalo"....... Always good for a chuckle of greater or...

Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

Dropping out of lurkdom for a minute....... That picture reminds me of an old story about a man who went out to go for a drive and discovered that his car battery was dead. So he decided he needed to recharge the battery. He found himself a very long wire and attached one end to his car...

Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

Wow, what an emotional roller coaster. Coupl'a days ago we were contemplating the future - and possible demise of Cocobeach - now were jumpin' up and down over an incredibly improbable birth. You're gonna have to go a little easier on me, guys.

Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

Holy Moley. I have a son who is a cook. Primarily at the Portland Hilton....and part time at a sports bar that serves primarily beer and chicken. Appropriately named the "Chicken Shack". I gotta send this to him. Oregon is a little wierd.....and Portland.....Ya, it's kinda out there....

Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

You're a wise man, Oz. I would bet that you know that few things on the planet are more formidable or intimidating than all those things out there that are.........."ladylike"......

Serious weaponry........ However - for some crazy reason - they don't pack the "intimidation power" of one of those old 8 or 9 pound 12 gauge blunderbusses of years gone by. That is, if weeding out the "faint of heart" by intimidation is your wife's priority.

Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

Ok, I gotta drop out of "lurkland" tell a story.......... My brother had the neatest "trick" he would do every time a kid would come over to pick up his daughter when she went out on a date (those high school days). The poor kid would arrive, knock on the door, then be invited in to wait for...

Sorry Oz, couldn't bring myself to vote..... I kept thinking: "Why just one color"? As I recall, the P.I. is a very colorful place. Or, to put it another way - I like all the colors - just not all one color. However, I suppose there's "economic" considerations to consider....... I really...

Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

Ok, dropping out of lurkerdom again - with another "off topic" question. Sure hope you don't mind. Will goats really decimate a blackberry bramble patch? I've heard this most of my life - that goats eat nearly anything. Just wonderin' if it's really true.

Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

gypsy767, That's quite a story...... When I look back on my own "I'm indestructible and I'm gonna live forever" stage of my human life cycle, I'm astounded that I managed to survive it alive. It just amazes me. And I worked with a bunch of those "high school chicken picker crews". The...

Hmmmmmm. How 'bout that. It figures. San Francisco is likely into more "progressive" food than the south. Thanks for responding.

I gotta hunch she would get real tired of it real fast. Those "18 wheelers" have a huge gap between the "perception" and the reality. However, there should be plenty of 'em on the road down there in California (after dark of course) - with beef prices shootin' through the roof, chicken is...

Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

I don't have anything to contribute, Oz. I'm an old geezer - the best I can do is all this vicariously. I enjoy this thread and EEBraggers thread and the "Broody Hen Hatch" (? ? I dunno, can't remember the name right now). I did however, many decades ago drive what was called a "livehaul"...

I don't raise chickens anymore - I did a very long time ago. And I follow along this (and a few other BYC) threads. Why?? Because I can't shake the notion that in my advancing age, I'm becoming more and more in touch with the reality that I live in a truly insane world. Right now my home...

Long live the King - the neverending story of Brahmalot!

Perhaps the office of the royal scribe might post portraits of the two kings in all their regal attire for those of us following this splendid story?
