    Hens 1 yr. old just started to lay.

    I have 3 barred rocks that are about 3 weeks shy of 1 yr. old and they are just now starting to lay. I have 3 different shape (fart) eggs, what can cause them to start so late. all my other hens have been laying?

    The hay is Coastal Bermuda that is used in the south for horse hay. I just paid 20.00 for a bale of alfalfa for the girls....

    Fasteners for the new treated lumber

    I am in construction, and Yes you do have to use the correct nails. The treated lumber will destroy untreated nails and fasteners.

    I use Purina brand feed and they recommend feeding starter until they are of age to start laying. there web site has a lot of info on feeds. hope this helps..

    Brown egglayers laying white eggs

    ok .... I was going to ask the same thing. I have 15 RIR's that lay 12 to 14 a day. never missed a day. today i go in the coop and 1 nice WHITE egg.... what is going on, I went and ask DW if she was playing a joke on me....so whats up?
