    Bought 6 chicks from a local farmer on Oct 20, 2014. 3 where 3-4 weeks old, the other 3 where 5-6 weeks old.     Is my chicken getting ready to lay eggs??

    I have 5 chickens and 1 rooster that will be 14 weeks old this coming Thursday. The Rooster has been " having fun" with 1 of the chickens. Does that mean she is just about ready to lay eggs ? Or are they just practicing ?
