Dust baths in cold weather? Help!

Thanks for the replies. Being new to chickens, we didn't know if the bath was really needed in cold weather. I'll get them some sand/dirt to bathe in!

Does the No-Crow Rooster Collar really work?

I'd like to get a rooster for my hens although city ordinance does not allow them. My thinking is if the collar works, it would be a non-issue. -Brad

My broody buster method...may be worth a try

I recently had a broody hen, nothing seemed to break her. I decided to bring her inside the house for an hour or so. The kids played with her and held her. She also ate and drank while inside as well, where previously she had no interest. Maybe a radical change of environments was all she...

    HELP! With feeding and watering!

I am so confused! Some info I get says to feed and water chickens inside the coop, others say only in the run, others provide feed and water in both the run and coop! I live in Northern, WI so I have a feeling my chickens aren't really going to want to go out to the run (the run and coop are...

    No pecking order...?

Thanks for all the great information guys and gals! I'm going to keep a closer eye on them to see if I can figure out who rules the roost. If things stay as they are I have no complaints. They all seem to be doing well.

    No pecking order...?

Thanks Sunflour! On a different but semi-related note...are there any breeds that tend to be more dominant than others? Currently we have a Buff Orpingnton, Silver Laced Wyandotte, Rhode Island Red, Golden Comet and a Barred Rock. Thanks
