Can anyone tell me why one of my chicken lays soft eggs and I mean they just have a thick membrane over the egg. I have added shell grit to there food. So thats not the problem. They all eat the same. Any one know.

I live in South Australia and have New Hampshires 1st year layers they stay in the rain but I am scared they will catch cold.Do they catch colds.

I have 6 babies about 2 months old I think there is 2 if not 3 rooster they all hatched together and so far are getting on fine. I also have 10 first year layers dose that. So if I do end up having 2 do I hsve to get rid of one

Hi BlueChicks62 may be when they get older. I am new to this too but now I have 10 big girls that have just started to lay so I get 10 eggs a day and the 6 babies that are 7 weeks old and very friendly. I love it. My German Shepherd isn't sure what to make of it.

Is it safe if they play in it.
