Hey!
Thanks y'all.
Looks like she's just molting. Her feathers started growing back almost immediately. This will be her 3rd set since the down when I got them arround easter.
Her sister has joined in now. It looks a little like someone just set off a pillow bomb in my back yard (since she's...
Some feathers around, but not a bunch. (an occasional feather here or there)
Food consists of:
Dumore Starter/Grower, Free range 9am-8pm (w/free access to open sand area)
Getting ready to switch the feeder to Purina Layena Plus (Omega-3). I got a free 40lb bag for filling out a servey through...
No, I'm not sure she isn't molting. let me go take a picture and post it in my profile pics...
Not the greatest pic, but I posted in my "Default" album in my profile page.

I've heard about separating one from the flock, but I just have the two. So, that would just mean separating each from the other?
I'll have to look up Sanitone, but I have vinegar! I'll try that first.
Thanks for your suggestion!
Yea. I bought 5. 3 where roosters, and went to the farm. The 2 hens I kept, and they are identical other than coloring.
I don't seem to have "permission" to add an attachment? Otherwise I would attach a picture of Babs & Edwina. (definitely hens)
A side note: though still working on the full...
I just have a pair of hens (supposedly Ameraucana -- one modeled brown with rusty head; one all white. Otherwise they look the same).
All of the sudden the brown one is missing all her saddle feathers. (no blood, or open wound)
I haven't seen any pecking, but I assume it's the other (white)...

There’s the combo territorial and pecking-order thing they do – like the little punk on the playground trying to ACT tough.
They won’t come directly at me, but when I turn my back or walk perpendicular they lunge, or puff up and mock-chase like, “yeah, you better run booooy!” Until I stop, and...
OK. It's been 8 days now. I'm getting close to answering this for myself.
I like the challenge of free, so I was thinking I need to find someone throwing out old basement wall paneling and foam drop-ceiling tiles.
The idea being, to frame with 1x1s that I rip myself from old pressure...
Thanks for the welcome and suggestions!
However, the "Michigan" thread is toast. Apparently Michiganders are surly, and can't get along? Not sure what that's about??
The "Coop and Run Construction" section is where I posted my question, and referenced that in my intro. Maybe I just titled it...
Just a quick "howdy-do":
Brand new to this, I am frantically building a coop for the new chicks.
Of the 5 chicks I purchased April 30th at TSC, it looks like I have 2 hens and 3 roosters. I'll be keeping (tractor cooping) the hens, and relocating the roosters to a horse farm in the country...

NO ONE here, that I have been able to find, seems to be discussing weight concerns, or their choice of material for cladding/siding on such a rig that will see winter? (Sorry “Arkansas”, that’s not really winter, LOL ;)
I live in mid-Michigan. What do y’all think would be my best choice...
