I just got 7 New Hampshire Red chicks from Agway. No clue how many days old they are when they get delivered, but guessing they are in their first few days. First time raising new chicks, hoping they all do well. Temp seems right and they seem happy. Stressing out over them though.
Howdy all, I am near Watkins Glen. I am desperately trying to find a home for one of my two roosters. They are brothers and have gotten along fine for their first year, but all of a sudden one of them (the bigger one) is abusing the other. Today got bad and the Black Astralorpe (possible mix...
This is the only place I have posted so far. My other rooster did some damage today so I am getting really worried. I can't really seperate him either.
I will check the other thread out, thx!
I have two roosters who have got along with their hens for the last year. But all of a sudden the slightly bigger rooster is picking on the black Astralorp(sp).
The black astralorp is about 10 months old, maybe 11. He was the ugliest chick ever, didn't have feathers for a long time, and...
I would say the two pure black australorp hens I have are the most timid of the group. For the most part they are friendly, and the ones who I think may be roosters are the most friendly towards me. As long as I don't do anything loud or sudden they are okay. Only one is crowing so far and...
I didn't see your comments in red before. Thank you for the help I really appreciate it. Unfortunately they seem to all be roosters. I am guessing it is the shiny feathers and pointed saddle feathers. I was hoping otherwise.

barred rock
columbian wyandotte
buff columbian wyandotte
Black Australorp
Yes I only took pictures of the ones I was questioning if they were a pullet or cockrel. I have two hens and another that I am pretty sure is a rooster that appear to be pure Australorp. I will find my other camera tonight and try and get some better pictures. They are all still getting used...
Sorry about that. On my computer you can click on them and they enlarge. Maybe I did something wrong? I am very new to this and posting from a tablet so it is possible.
I forgot to mention I did read the section about the saddle feathers but I am not really sure (or don't want to believe) that I have multiple roosters. I like all 10 of them and they get along well but the extra roosters are going to have to take a trip to Antarctica.
Hello All. My name is Logan from Ithaca, NY area. My sister hatched some chickens for my dad who never found the time to build a coop. I had the time so now I have 10 chickens. Some of them appear to be pure black australorp's the others are mixes or something else. Below are a few...
