I do have some Vetericyn in the cabinet... that is safe to use at such a young age? Thank you for your advice and I appreciate the tips about the hardware cloth -- We had a mirror in there but I didn't find that sufficient.- Ducky07

Yes unfortunately they are a tad noisy. The males are not so bad, but this is typical in every breed. Actually I had to separate the males and females for awhile; the difference between the noise level was incredible! -

It really depends on the duck but some breed are more friendly than others. In my personal experience Pekins are the most sociable. Cayugas seem quiet and often unsociable. I could not find any external injuries on her. My guess was she may have ingested a poisonous substance or had a complication passing an egg. I wondered if it had anything to do with the egg because the gang loves it outside and only goes in the coop to lay. -
