Hello!

I have 3 Jumbo Pekin Ducks and 2 Cayuga ducks. All females except the one Pekin.
When I am approaching their enclosure they give several loud quacks. Occasionally along with these quacks they make a loud pitched noise. It sounds like a small dog yipping. What coud these ducks be trying to convey?

Maybe they are excited to see you, do they act afraid? if not I'd say excitement.

...perhaps they are secretly planning a take over? ;)

My ducks always get excited when they see me approaching (being the bearer of peas that I am, they are probably anticipating my bringing treats!)

And I also have one that occasionally sounds like a little dog barking - one of my WH females....I wouldn't worry too much.

Cheers'

Dan
