No. It looks like a barnyard mix (mutt) to me.

This is my first time owning quality barred rocks. This chick is a month old and naked.

    Plymouth Rock thread!

Wow. I was looking at where the wing feathers are coming in and there seemed to be more white than normal, this may be what I have. I am very careful about my eggs so I doubt I mixed one up. Also the chick is from non-hatchery birds. The parents are actually good quality. I think I will call the...

    Plymouth Rock thread!

All of the ones in the breeding pen have single combs. I have some doms in the background. That may be what you are referring to. I am not interested in sexing the chick. Just wondering if anyone hatched anything like it. I can't even make sense of what it would be from my other breeds. My free...

    Plymouth Rock thread!

Here are some new pictures of this chick. I would love to know if anyone else has hatched a similar chick. Here is a photo of the parents (unless it was a mismarked egg).

    Plymouth Rock thread!

I have never hatched a barred rock chick with markings like this before. It had me wondering if I mismarked an egg somehow. Has anyone had similar barred rock chicks? Thanks in advance.

I really don't want to do shipped eggs, and I have not been able to find anyone in driving distance from me. I have done some research and cackle and Meyer seem to be the best. I was hoping someone here had experience with them or other hatcheries to help me make the decision. I am located in...

I have three hens and one Roo. I am the only breeder I have found in my area. So hatcheries are looking like my only option.

I am thinking about ordering some salmon faverolles pullets in the spring to add to my flock. I am considering Meyer and Cackle Hatcheries. Anyone have experience with either?

I bred her myself from this trio. My hens are on the dark side so I am thinking she is going to be an exceptionally dark pullet.

I need help sexing the chick on the back left of the first pic. I originally thought female, but it's gotten so dark. No black though. Also seems to be feathering at the same rate as the male chicks.

[/IMG] I guess the prettier they are, the further they fall. LOL. Gotta love molting.
