Just an FYI for all considering, I recently purchased a dozen olive egger eggs. 14 well packaged eggs were shipped and arrived without issue. Three weeks later I've got 13 healthy happy little chicks. Couldn't be happier. Thanks again Simz.
What I think is odd: swaps are banned, but fairs are ok. Yet both have very similar if not the same testing requirements for the poultry to attend. Am I missing something? And one could argue that foot traffic at fairs is going to be substantially greater than a swap, increasing risks.
One of mine went broody and seemed pretty determined, so I gave her three barnyard mix eggs. Friday one hatched, if you look close you can see it. So far she's been a really good mom. Listening to the two talk to each other is very interesting.
