    One legged duck

Update! I have convinced my neighbor to not put her down. She is doing well, and still gets along well with the other duckies in her pen, so I told him that I'd care for her if she needs extra care, so she can stay with her friends. If the time comes he doesn't want her, he said he would bring...

    One legged duck

When I got my Cherry, she only had one good leg, and did ok on it until she regained use of the other one... But I worry because this is different. She doesn't HAVE the other leg. But, my research has pointed to ducks being able to ducks being able to live with one leg, and I think I can even...

    One legged duck

Help! My neighbor has a duck with one leg. He wants to put her down. i think I can save her. I have a little pen in the back with two ducks in it, and plenty of space. Do you think my ducks will take to her (Cherry and Ariel are both female) and do you think she'll be ok with one leg? She seems...

We put Ariel in the pool today. She came from a place that didn't have any water for her, so I think this is the first time she's ever been able to just open up and SWIM. She had a BLAST .

duck ownership Dos and donts? breed help?

I've narrowed it down (I think) to magpie or acona. I was thinking Magpie because I read aconas aren't terribly common.

duck ownership Dos and donts? breed help?

So, I've recently acquired two ducks from my neighbor. Both have injured legs, but one is healing nicely, and on one we'll know when I get all the solidified mud off (but she is walking.) I've never had ducks, but have been researching a lot about their needs, as I am determined to have happy...

    Rescue Duck deformed leg

Awww! I have recently become home to two ducks with injured legs. My husband reacted much the same way. "Grumble grumble... oh its injured! Well let's build a duck enclosure and get em all healed up." Lol.

Ok, so I'm new to ducks. I "inherited" an injured one when my neighbor gave her to me because I wanted to rehabilitate her (rather than put her down). I have no idea what kind she is. (Looks a bit like the acona pic?) But her name is Cherry Darling.

    New Duck Owner

Hi! I am BRAND NEW at duck ownership, as I kinda "inherited" her. She has an injured leg and my neighbor (whose ducks and chickens I care for while he's out of town) told me to put her down. :( so I decided to try to rehabilitate her and he told me to keep her. Soooo... I don't know the first...
