It does look like they are meant for pheasant eggs. They will most likely fall out once they are in the incubator. I'm sure you can purchase trays on ebay or amazon... Check it out?
Chopping off the hens head is very messy, but also a little bit quicker than snapping It's neck. I would recommend breaking the chickens neck. To prevent mess and also accidents that could happen. (hitting the chicken with axe but not chopping its head off etc.)

Hi, something similar happened to me in 2015. I was very unsure if the eggs would hatch or not. I said "I've come this far" and left them in for the remaining 12 days and on day 19 they started hatching. I read somewhere that higher temps makes them hatch earlier. No Idea if It's true or not...
