There needs to be a warning on that first link haha. I will have some extra hands to help so I will see what I can do. I have pushed on it before and it wasn't hard at all seemed to be very soft. Thank you again for the information.
i would say it resembles the first one with the swollen eyelid the most. I will get a pic of her tonight when i get home. No bad odor or anything. The eye itself is fine it dilates just as it should i guess i need to lance it open which is what i was afraid i was going to have to do. Thank you...
I have read through the other threads but none of the pics seem to look like what my chicken has. The tissue around the eye isnt swollen just he eyelid above the eye. I was told this weekend to try Terramycin so I will get some this week. She is doing great otherwise she eats drinks looks...
I have a hen with a large swell on its eyelid. I have given tylan and sprayed it with vetricyn (??) nothing has changed. I have her separated from the rest to make sure she isnt bullied to death and doesnt spread what she has. This has gone on for 2 weeks it got better briefly then swelled back...
Very cool never seen a dog lick a chicken before!
My dog loves to follow the chickens around when they free range (he really just likes to harvest their poop, gross I know I have tried and tried to break him of it.), the chickens don't mind my lab because he has never tried to get them nor is...
I saw an old post like this and though it was pretty neat so i figured I would start another one. I don't have pictures of my dogs with my chickens at the moment but ill take some and post later. Please give a little info about what breed of dog and maybe the pros and cons of that breed in...
Yeah they are just hot. My RIRs do it all the time. I live in Oklahoma and the temperature yesterday was 98 with a heat index of 113. Just make sure they have plenty of cool water. I try to replace their water everyday when I get home from work.
Well just to let everyone know my wife and I went on our week long vacation and I decided to just leave the coop open so they could go in and out of the enclosed run. My dad visited almost every day to check them. Nothing even attempted to get into the coop (At least no evidence was left). Came...
I put my chicks out in the coop with a heat lamp at about 5 weeks old and they did just fine. The chicks are at 6 weeks now and I will start to let them out of the coop during the day. Just make sure they aren't too cold depending on the weather. If they haven't feathered out completely that...
I just didn't know if a security light would have any effect keeping them away but I would assume you are right that after they know there is nobody home that it will just be mood lighting. I am torn on what to do. I do have someone coming over every other day to water the garden and other small...
Alright, I want to preface this by saying I know that even if I think my run is predator proof that things can still happen and weasels, snakes, rats etc. etc. That being said I am going to Montana for a week, its OK to be jealous, and I live in the country with only 1 or 2 neighbors around and...
That is a lot of money and time well spent the coop looks amazing. I just did my garden fence as well I used cattle panels with regular old chicken wire around the bottom, but from the looks of your coop I bet yours will be fancier than that lol.
That's not too bad at all for that nice of a coop! Good call on the chicken run building party why didn't I think of that lol. Good luck with the run and let us know how the chicken raising is coming. You can get most of your answers just by searching the forum I search things probably on a...
Welcome adkhunter, and that coop looks great. I hate to know what you spent on it but it will definitely do the job for 6 RIRs.Does it come with a chicken run? Are you going to free range? or just keep the "cooped up?"
My coop is 5x3 and from 3.5 to 2.5 feet tall. With an 8x5 run that is 4 feet tall. And mine cost over double so i guess that's about par for the course.
Of course mine came with frustration, stress, blood, sweat, and time and I can't really put a price on that.
Well at least they didn't get in there. I am worried about the same thing when the nice weather returns and I leave my dogs out. I have a mini dachshund that was born to get into trouble and a chocolate lab that is always hungry haha
Yeah if i move up to a bigger one I will probably buy it, unless I win the lottery and quit my job, but then again I won the lottery so why not just buy....anyways. That is a great looking coop I can tell it was built by pros! I found that my run was the easy part to build so don't be too timid...
