Thank you all for your recommendations. In the process of trying to "lube" the vent, I've put alot of olive oil on the body feathers. Should I clean them off? She looks "wet" and cold. She's breathing hard and I don't know if she'll make it to morning. She's not drinking or eating anything.

BTW, I'm a newbie too. I have four 7 week olds (Buff O, Rhode Island Red, Black Sex Link, and Golden Wyanotte), a 4 week old Americauna and two 2 week old Mille Fiore Leghorns. I think I'm getting a bit obsessed with the whole chicken thing.

I cleaned her yellow gunk off her vent and the vent looks fine. However no feathers on fanny and very hard and don't know how to clear. Chick sleeps all day and 1/2 the size of her sister.
