I haven't dealt with a prolapse vent, but leaky white poop sounds familiar.. any way she has a secondary infection of vent gleet? Does the white discharge smell awful? Just a thought. I'm sorry about your bird. Better pictures may help when someone knowledgeable on this chimes in. Good luck!
Hi y'all!
@Pensmaster good luck! @Hope Hughes I have a feeling you are an onery gal! So.. when you get back to Oklahoma let's hangout! Lol You're quite the enabler so you're welcome at my house anytime. @Farmer Connie is clearly ok with your coercive hatching sorcery too!
Glad everyone...
@karma33 How far did you get on your Wine cooler build? I pick up this tomorrow, and am considering the Incukit. Do you mind sharing some pictures? I'm shocked there isn't a dozen threads on this, but seems like everyone uses light bulbs...
Sooo... how long do I wait for this last egg to hatch?? Feeling VERY impatient..:barnie
It still hasn't pipped..
Thanks to all the awesome pictures, i think I'll go pick up some duck eggs! They are too cute! :love:love:love
Omg, I'm not done! I did a float test for the heck of it while I was cleaning the incubator and an egg shimmied across the bowl! Thank goodness I have a second bator running! I rushed the two last eggs back under the heat, and set back up the hatcher/incubator i just washed out! I hope i didn't...
Im officially done 10/14 that went into lockdown have hatched! My Orpington that pipped first died. And my one Silkie didn't make it. But cute little Brahma/Sussex and EE/Sussex babies running around! Will post pictures soon. Those cute fluffy legs are killing me!
Love the turkey name! Glad...
Ugh, my first one to pip yesterday around 5 still hasn't made any progress. It's malpositioned as it pipped near the wrong end.. but it clearly popped through the membrane so theoretically it can breath, but I don't see any movement. On a brighter note, we've got 3 fluffy butts out, and a couple...
@Hope Hughes A little girl! Squeal! :love:love
I have a 24month girl, Wren, and we just had a boy 2.5 months ago, Magnus. Babies are the best! Human ones and chickies! Although i will admit I'm exhausted lol
Have we gotten an update on the turkey poult lately? @aliciaplus3
I officially have 6...
Im so glad everyone is hatching! It's so fun! Apparently I didn't fry all my eggs because I have 2 external pips! My lone Orpington and a BrahmaX. Hopefully there will be more but I'll be satisfied if even 2 make it all the way out. My temps were nuts for a while..
Loving the NY Hatch-a-long...
I'm basically in the same boat, but my temps went bonkers for a few hours so I'm super worried. I'm also using the Hatchabatch app so I've heard tomorrow is just day 20 not day 21 since the app is supposedly a day off.. :fl
Yes!!! I knew it was gonna perk up! It's so cute!!
X3 :lau:lau:lau...
It all just depends if you get caught!:p
I thought if a bird has killed before and is back for more you could shoot it but that is still a grey area rule-wise. And I could be totally wrong. Definitely don't take my word for it without calling a game warden or local sheriff to see what the rules...
Excited for everyone and their new fluffy butts!
From what I've been told, you can harm or kill a bird of prey if they are killing your livestock, but I think the rule is worded like you have to kill it while it's in the act of it killing your birds, Otherwise B.O.P are protected. ? Not sure I'm...
Boy don't I know it! ;) Im running a Farm innovator 4250 forced air bator and a cheapo styrofoam still air as a hatcher. When I get the money , I'm gonna buy a GQF cabinet.. I really don't need one, but Oh well. :D I only have a small backyard flock. Im not a big breeder or anything although I...
My incubator is freaking out!! I locked down at 3 and its yet to get back up to 99.5 but is reading 103-104° on the face. And my 3 thermometers that are all calibrated and matching exact temp until now are all 3 reading different temps!! 102°, 98°, & 96°! I can tell if I'm cooking the eggs or...
Locked down the 14 that had made it this far. Kinda excited except my absolute favorite rooster died today... and I have a frizzle thats dying too. I dont know what to do. I started a thread on the disease forum if anyone knows their chicken diseases...
Thanks @Welshies! The coop is large, but I definitely need to scoop out the bedding it's been at least a week, but it's so dang cold! Lol I looked up ammonia build up symptoms but they don't match. Plus i have a large part of the front door just screen so I know it's ventilated well. Im just...
My coop is 9'x9'. I have 19 birds. They free range from sun up to sun down on an acre. Bedding is mostly pine shavings, tiny bit of straw that's been knocked out of the nesting boxes...
