Yep, something's been poking around my house as well. My LGD keeps barking up a storm at the same time each night. Haven't lost anything since he got big enough to defend everything. He's still very puppy-ish but does very good with my birds and goats.
Still didn't turn up anything inside cyclone fencing. Headed out back now. Lost both my bigger dogs to old age a few years back. They were not good with chickens until they got older.
How's the Silveruud eggs doing?
9 of mine are looking ok.
What breed is a LGD?

There are a lot of nice incubators out there. The plastic ones often hold temps better
Boy don't I know it! ;) Im running a Farm innovator 4250 forced air bator and a cheapo styrofoam still air as a hatcher. When I get the money , I'm gonna buy a GQF cabinet.. I really don't need one, but Oh well. :D I only have a small backyard flock. Im not a big breeder or anything although I do have an Orpington color project I will start working on in the spring. It might take 50 years with the small numbers I'll be working with, but im gonna give it a shot!

Dickey has a new incubator out. I saw a thread about it. It looks like a winner!

With the expanded trough and the spongesthe humidity is staying at 64% first time ever stable. Of course I've added 2 cups of water since yesterday.
Number two is out.

Had three early birds hatch on Friday morning. One didn't make it to the brooder, not sure what happened. Another was found lifeless Friday night. ☹️☹️️ I just bathed and dried the third who had poop butt and a tiny piece of shell stuck to its belly. Six eggs left in the bator. I think I hear some fait peeping in there. Fingers crossed!
We're loving the pics of all the new birds! Lots of "Oooh!" and "Aww!" going on around here, which is helping to distract little ones from the hawk atrack we witnessed this morning. A huge redtail had a blue Cochin two feet off of the ground before dropping her. No attacks by hawks in nearly three years we've had birds, and now we've had three attacks in as many days. We lost a blue Silkie yesterday, a BLRW the day before, and Slippers is likely going to pass from today's incident. A huge housing development has started across the street and so many critters have been displaced from along the creek that runs through the area. And they call it progress.
Here's Shelly Belly.
