    keeping free range chickens safe

    Does anyone have any ideas on how to stop my chickens from flying over the safety fence? I ended up losing a leghorn R.I.P. Hiccup, to my dog because the **** chicken wouldn't learn to stay in the pen. This is my first go round w/ chickens and especially with a death. I gotta say the leghorns...

    Any tips on preventing fox attacks

    I used my shotgun last night as a deterrent. He attacked one of my leghorns on Thursday morning and i chased him away. Last night I was standing in the woods near my pen and he walked right up to me basically. So I killed him. Shotgun shells are very inexpensive!
  3. Sally, Hiccup and Peep are our leghorns. Just chillin in the shade, their not really sure what to thing about the new arrivals. "Red Sex Links" also we just a couple new EE's. 1 hen and 1 roo.

  4. Red Sex Link, we haven't named yet. We just got a couple days ago so were checking out their personalities first. But they (2) both have been laying nice big brown eggs. :)
