My coturnix rooster killed one of my a &m hens. It looked like he was pecking her in the neck and eyes. Does anyone know how this could happen? It is cold at night now but not below 0°c and they have a heat lamp. Could the cold be a factor in the murder?
I have a coturnix hen and a coturnix roo and a a&m hen but the roo isnt riding the a&m I am worried the coturnix hen is being over riden because she is running out of neck feathers. Alittle Iinsight would be great thanks!

I know that my quail get stressed when handled. I don't know about yours and I don't know how you get them into the large cage but try not to touch them.
I have three coturnix quail and they are 6 weeks old. The male is crowing but the females aren't laying eggs yet. How long do you think till they might start laying?
