Just a funny story. I was looking on Craigslist at chickens for sale or give a ways and happed onto a posting for 10 Easter Eggers which is a breed I fell in love with and want to breed myself. My daughter was going to perform with her show choir in the same city the lady had the babies. So I...
Oh my, I really didn't think it would happen but I have my first chicken and now I am a nervous wreck. I feel it is too cold but they have a heat lamp.
Before yesterday I was certain that I had two toms and one female. I had the same thing happen to me as the one I knew as a female, laid down next to me and let me pet her. It is really no different than chicken hens squatting in front of me when they are about to begin laying eggs. And like...

I have one female and two toms. I really do not want to get rid of a tome and plan on keeping all three. They have a stack of straw outside of the chicken house and prefer to sleep there at night. My concern is if this female was to lay eggs or brood, would she do this outside on the bales or...

Hi everyone, I am a new member to the BYC and besides chickens, I have bought three turkeys. I have some pictures and as far as I can tell, and not sure what breed they are. I want to see about breeding them and just have to find out what breed I have. Anyway, here they are and I just love them.
here are my original seven. They are always up for a photo op. They are called Red producers and live up to their name. Very cold hearty girls and if they feel like it, pretty social.
