I have a Lohmann, think it's a silver. Bout 13 weeks old now and perhaps looking a little like a rooster? No crowing yet though and very calm and friendly.
Just did some more research, the white one is a Lohmann Brown, a specially bread chicken to produce large eggs, 1 a day and apparently very friendly so good for kids and as pets. I have definitely noticed that it is a very calm chick, thinks that's partly why my daughter likes it so much...
Sure is teach1rus. I have explained to her and she says she doesn't mind if 'she' is a rooster...but we'll see. Thanks Peep-Chicken, I will definitely research it a bit more and look into those collars :)
Oh ok, that was my concern as well with the white one, it's my daughters favourite so she will be heart broken if we have to take it back...but not much else we can do but wait, like you said.
The form I was given about the chicks when we got them says "Lohmons" I'm not sure what that means...
