Every time I go into the run they bow down to me. Hahahahaha so I guess everyone was right when they said you will know your chicken's are squatting when you see it. I thought I did months ago but wasnt sure...Now I know what it actually looks like. Owning chickens is so much fun. I absolutely...
It's been 25 days since their last dose and i have a couple girls that just laid their first eggs this week so makes me happy to know I don't have to throw them out!!!
I figured the EEs would be the girls to stick it to me. Lol The only ones that are even red in the face is my red sex link and my 2 16w black sex links. I'm not expecting anything from the black girls yet though. My red sex link is the only mean girl I have. I'm waiting for her to remind me why...
I have 12 chickens and only have 2 that lay but both are taking a break as they just got over being sick. Those two girls took forever. 1 was a brown leghorn who started at 29w and 1 EE who started at 31w. Now I have...

My whole flock of 12 have IBV. I've done the full shabang for them and they are slowly getting back to normal...my question is about their egg laying. I have 2 hens laying who have completely stopped and 10 pullets who are all at the POL but haven't started yet. I have read ibv only effects hens...
Did their laying decrease when they did start back? Mine were laying every day and taking 1 day off a week so I'm just curious how much it will go down once they do start laying again.
@kaseythomas86 Thanks so much for getting back with me! I've been worried sick! I'm glad to hear yours got all better how old was the one who didn't make it? My youngest in the flock are 14 weeks old. They aren't showing any symptoms but I'm a till worried about them. Did your chicken's laying...
@kaseythomas86 I'm going through this now. What exactly did you do to help them get better? I have a snow storm going on right now so I brought the two worst ones inside. I'm giving vetrx prebiotic and electrolyte to them and I order tylan soluble and waiting for that to come in the mail...
Unfortunately I don't have vets here that take chickens. No open mouth breathing but now they are making gurgling noise. One can barely keep her eyes open. She keeps one eye shut now and it's got white scales on the lid. A snow storm is about to hit in the next hour so I'm expecting symptoms to...
Also can I eat the eggs they are producing now or should I throw them out? I saw that cold temps can make their symptoms worse... We are expecting a snow storm and Temps to drop below freezing should I temporarily add a heat lamp just while they are showing symptoms?
