Most of us don't have what people would consider the best, but there aren't many bad dslr's these days. Lenses make a huge difference, but even they aren't the biggest factor. The most important component is the photographer... and lots of practice. But practice is the fun part.

It's been a while since I've been on here. Looking in this thread made me want to share some pictures.

My brother's neighborhood has deer everywhere. We went to visit last summer, and I was in heaven. :)
@ waddles99 I'm with you there. I've been too busy to take pictures for a while. Sad thing is, photography is exactly what I need to clear my head and relax.... Maybe soon.
Nice pictures. :)
@ Aereolyn Camera was going to be my next suggestion. Good choice there. It's awful that you can't get any help. So sorry you have to go through this. I do wish you well.
Hello! I'm on the opposite side of the state from you - a couple hours east of Dallas. It's great your boys have taken to the chickens. Mine never seemed to care either way. But I think they secretly liked them. Lol
Thank you WyandotteIndeed. Yes, my girl looks like pic #2. Pages been here two days now, and seems to be doing really well. She has to turn her head sideways a lot, and got a leaf stuck on her beak when she was pecking at breakfast this morning. But she really is doing well.
Uh oh... Confusion... You're right, they do look a lot alike. The pics I've seen of the Columbian Rocks have a lot more black though. She could just be a poor sample. She did come from a hatchery. Seems she looks an awful lot like a Delaware though. Sigh. I'll be combing through more pictures...
@ cowgirl The poor baby!! Thank you for the input. Unfortunately, I can't free range where I live - too many predators & not enough space anyway. The last time I tried that did not turn out well. And this is why I was without chickens for about 4 years, I think (lost track). We just restarted...
Thanks everyone for the input. :) My husband was worried about how she'll do since she's blind in one eye. But I think she will adjust and do fine. I think she'll turn out to be a sweetie once she gets used to us too.
Thanks. I knew there were differet varieties of the breed. I just didn't think she looked like any of them. It's looking like Delaware is the winner here. :)
