Well its been a few days and the chick still has this excess skin on its rear. Most of the fluid is gone now its just excess skin flap. chicks eating and drinking fine i assume it ill just grow into its extra body skin ?
So last night i attempted to switch the 6 eggs my australorp she was sitting on with week old isa/leghorn chicks. Removed her eggs at around 8pm (night) checked her this evening and this is the picture success
One of my australorp chicks that hatch this morning has this excess skin arround the buttox area any idea what it is ( fluid ). It seems to be bogged down when trying to walk with this excess fluid sack dragging around
6 Chicks total from the 9 eggs. 5 roosters 1 hen. How the little female chick has not opened her eyes since hatching. She is walking around hobbling and cheerping every now and then , but she wont open her eyes. What could cause this ?
2 pips 1 zipper so excited ** Update we have 1 hatched chicken woohooo
** 2nd one has hatched =) the other eggs are pool balls by the looks
*** 3rd hatched
Out of my 5 Australorps 3 Isa Browns 1 Leghorn
All but the isa browns go broody. My australorps go broody more often as soon as one starts they all start
Ive moved 8 eggs from my janoel 24 incubator to my new broody hen let see how this goes.
As i never had the Hygrometer from day dot, when I started the incubation ( i work away 2 weeks at a time so had my kids fill the incubator as per instructions ) i don't hold to much hope with the chicks...
