They are healthy. When I opened the coop his morning the chickens head was eaten off and a huge part of its body. My coop is inside our run. We did not see any evidence of anything that tried to dig under. Could this possibly be a raccoon or fox?

I found one of my chickens dead this morning and another injured. I have netting on the top of my run and nothing has dug under. What could have gotten in?

I am game to try anything at this point. I think the calcium is a good idea. She showed me the top leg bones looked weak in the xray. The vet thinks he has pituitary issue that made him grow so fast. She wants to try dopamine like in adults but I am fearful of that.

The vet took xrays and she didn't say anything about it being broken, I looked at the xrays but didn't notice anything myself.

Thanks so much. I gave him a lukewarm bath last evening and he loved it. I just wish I could give him a vitamin that could strengthen his poor legs.

Does anybody have any suggestions? I don't know of any avian vets in my area. I took him to our local vet.

I am using a vitamin pack from our local farm store. it has 2500 niacin along with a dozen or more other vitamins. I only give one tsp. per gallon water. It breaks down to about 150 mg.

Thanks. I feel for her. She seems to still have an appetite. There is a tendon or something exposed in the wound and when she eats I can see it move. Can a wound that size heal over?
