How old are chicks/chickens before they start becoming easier to catch?

They have all been handled a lot since they hatched, my sisters would have them in their rooms, in their dressing gowns and sat watching tv with them. Once you get hold of them they are perfectly friendly and calm. They will also come and sit on you when you are sat out with them. I don't like...

How old are chicks/chickens before they start becoming easier to catch?

Hello, I have five 18 week chickens (3 hens, 2 cockerels) and they are all a nightmare to catch. My 3 older girls (about 40 weeks) are a lot easier to catch, they stop crouch when you get near. I was wondering if they reach an age where they are easier to catch or do I just have some naughty...

Frizzle Polish Tolbunt gender help PLEASE

Thank you. He has a big personality and trouble maker! I like to let them run around the garden when we are home but when it comes to putting him back into his run he gets other ideas. It takes 4 of us at least 10 minutes to corner and catch him! He reminds us all of the road runner.

Is my pekin a he or she?

Yay! I can keep them all so long as both my boys behave! D Makes up for the disappointment of my silkie being a cockerel who I desperately wanted to be a girl but I love him to bits and he will always be my favourite!

Is my pekin a he or she?

That is a relief to hear! I would hate to have to get rid of her! Am I right in thinking that my other 2 are girls? (Sorry the pictures are not very clear! :) )

Is my pekin a he or she?

Yay! I am glad! I already have 2 and probably would have been made to get rid of her :( Do you know why she still cheeps, when all the others have been clucking for over a month now?

Frizzle Polish Tolbunt gender help PLEASE

I was frequently told that they are really hard to sex and sometimes you don't know until they either crow or lay an egg. Mine didn't crow until about 14 weeks. So you may have a little wait until you can tell.

Frizzle Polish Tolbunt gender help PLEASE

I love it's colouring! :D This was our frizzle polish at 8 weeks who turned out being male. If you look closely he was starting to go a pinky/red around his beak. Now he is 18weeks and very red in the face and crowing.

Is my pekin a he or she?

This is Dinah, she/he is about 18 weeks and still cheeping. The other two Pekins are clucking and I believe to be girls (or at least hoping!). And the silkie and polish are crowing. Dinah is half the size of the others and has been very slow in developing since hatched. I was wondering if you...

    Silkie thread!

Thank you. I was hoping he would be girl as we already have a frizzle polish cockerel. But he is very friendly and I am now trying to convince everyone that he needs a lady silkie friend as all the others have someone the same breed. But I keep being informed that 8 chickens is more than enough. :(
