Mine are 30 weeks now and the eggs are bigger than they were. I'm used to my English Orpington eggs (and they're huge) so they look medium sized to me. I bet they'll get bigger though.
Sorry it took me so long to reply! Nothing showed up alerting me to it. Here's another egg pic. The brown eggs are from the grocery store. The blues are WTB eggs.
The one on the right is a True Blue egg. The one on the left is from an Ameraucana. Just was comparing the two. This is an unfiltered original photo :-)
Sorry it took me so long. We have been flooding! Here is a picture of a typical WTB egg next to the paint swatches that were closest to their color. Still though, my phone camera makes the egg look different! I think because it's higher up than the swatch and it's doing strange color tweaking...
Hi there! I'm selling my fertile Whiting True Blue hatching eggs! They are a brand new breed that was released by Murray McMurray early this year. They breed true to lay lovely BLUE eggs. The birds themselves are many different colors. They have been very heat tolerant, feed efficient and...
That's a good idea. I'm going to do it! Next time I go to town I'll get some paint sample cards and take pics of my WTB eggs. ill post the pics! Stay tuned :-)
I have Lavender Ameraucanas and they all have perfect little pea combs but their eggs are a pale blue green. The WTB blue eggs are a lot brighter. I'm thinking the bright white of a Leghorn might've helped with that but added straight combs into the mix?
That's the same thing that happened to mine! I bet the other one ends up flopping too. I had 8 roosters to begin with and all of them got "The Flop"! So I kept the two best looking Roos and got rid of the others.
I know floppy combs are not a good feature as far as showing goes, but is there a...
Update! All of my hens are laying now and 6 of them lay pretty blue eggs! Whew! I have my suspicions on who's laying the cream and green eggs and they are being removed from the flock today. I'm still going to squak to Murray McMurray until they do something other than tell me to wait. Happy...
I'm going to contact them again. I got three eggs today. 2 greens and a cream. 3 hens down, 6 to go now. How can they call them "True Blue" in their ad and then act like I'm just supposed to be patient when all I find is green and cream?! I know the cream won't change, and I've seen greens go...
I did too. I believe those 2 eggs are from 2 different hens. I don't think one hen would lay such drastically different colored eggs. I have 7 others. Maybe they'll all lay blue eggs. Ha! That's far fetched. I can hope, right?
Yes, one laid a cream colored egg today! I couldn't believe my eyes. A refund won't come close to making up for all the money spent on feed to raise those mutts to this point. I knew I should stay away from hatchery birds but couldn't resist in a "new breed." That was my first and last hatchery...
