Hi,
I have 2 BPR who have been very happy together since egglings! one of them lays everyday without fail... the other may lay two a week....they have been confined to their run and house for the last week, their run is a decent size with grass plenty of shelter etc etc..they were totally free...
Its umbilical has since dried, but hasn't fallen off... it is firmly attached, I will not be pulling that out! don't worry, (I have seen a bumble bee sting!)
Will it just fall off in time? its only about a cm long...if that.
Hi.
Many thanks for the great advice. I water candled them, then candled them, tapped, and pleaded! turns out they were dead. one wasn't very well formed and dead, and the other was not very big, and had died.
So, I got rid, and cleaned out the incubator, ready to do a load of guinea fowl...
Hi There,
I am very new to this whole chick stuff! I have an rcom 20 automatic incubator, which has worked perfectly for the entire hatch, I candled my 12 BPR on day 10, 11 of which were alive and moving. 1 was just a clear egg.
On day 21, all 9 hatched over a 24 hour period. So thrilled! Now...
