Ya just like people you get sweet hearts then you get jerks, What breed is he? I know the white meat turkeys which aren't any good for breeded can be cross when it comes breeding season. ive the bronze are idiots too ,I've had 2 royal palms and they never harmed any thing when mating season...
I just found almost a dozen green eggs and i believe they belong to my runner duck, i have seen my male duck mate her this year so i'm sure they're fertilized, i was gonna throw them away as i think it may still be to cold, but also don't wanna throw away if she plans to set soon. I'm in Canada...
Well for 1 turkeys naturally roost in trees at night to stay away from predators, thats why they dont want go in the coop, and two you could clip there wings, just don't cut the blood feathers.
Heritage birds have the better meat but may take little longer then 7 months depending how fast they grow. I got a 6 month tom who is tall and full sized but if you feel his chest its still small. Go with Heritage
So do i, i bought 2 artisan golds and turns out the both grew up to be males :( guess i gotta sell them and look for females again. I want a black turkey.
