Sorry, I wouldn't know.
Since I posted 1 went belly up.
1 has several black feathers, mixed with the white.
Seldomly do they lay eggs.
They are a blast to watch walk. They sort of skip along.
Superbowl evening last year one was bleeding profusely. One of my rhode island reds pulled a...
All knowing ones. I was given this fella by a person who couldn't feed him. He was a resident of the new renters home before they moved in. So no help from them as to his breed. Any ideas?
Day 2 with snow here. More comin' ! My sultans (They have feathered feet also)haven't been out much since we got down in the 30's. The explorer of my flock(this is their first winter) put 1 foot in the snow and froze. Then scurried in and didn't venture out for about 2 hours. Then the flood...
Thanks, Polish Princess.
Nice website, best pics I've seen yet of these sulties. I'm a rookie with birds, I bought these gals from McMurry Hatchery. Along with 24 others. The specials all come unsexed. It looks like out of the 6 specials I got 5 gals and the Dominique is a Roo. Out of 20...
Polish princess are you saying the females will have more of a round head of feathers then the males? Are the males better able to see, because of less over hang of feathers? Here are my 3 sultans. The one on the right has better vision due to less feathers on top. They are 14weeks old.
I have some buff & white orpingtons a couple of rhode island reds, and some black giants. 3 of each but only 2 whites for sale. I'm in Galesburg. Sort of central. All from McMurray about 12 weeks old now. Asking 5 dollars each? Or is that too little to ask for. I have never sold any chickens before.
I have a friend here in west-central Illinois that doesn't heat her water at all. We got down to -27 this past winter. She said, she just gives them water everyday. Her chickens free range all winter long. Stay in an uninsulated coop at night. Remember cold water will freeze much slower than hot...
LOL I experienced the same thing here. Though not digitally. Then I read a post saying the birds will regulate their own temps. Just have the warmth available to them and they'll use it when they need it. My sleeping schedule was very erratic the 1st 2 weeks of this new adventure also. Thanks...
