I hatched some guinea keets and four have spraddle leg. I've done a search on this forum and see people talking about using a band aid. They refer to a link about how to do it, but I can't find it anywhere.
Could someone refer me to the link, or explain to me how to do it?
Thank you for your speedy reply.
You said your hatches normally occur on Day 28 but I've read that lockdown should be on Day 23. That seems like an awfully long time for lockdown.
What day do you set the eggs?
This is my first attempt at hatching guinea keets. When I hatch chickens I normally leave the incubator closed until 2 - 3 days after the first chick has hatched. I've read that the keets need to be removed as soon as they're dry, but how do you do that without losing the humidity?

Hi Everybody~
I haven't been around for quite a while, so I thought it's time to re-introduce myself!
I'm in Jackson and have roughly 50 or so chickens with eggs in the incubator. I have Delawares, Barred Rocks, Buff Rocks, Buff Orpingtons, Rhode Island Reds, Americanas, Black Copper Marans and...
I'll do that. I have a Sportsman cabinet incubator so I'd have to pull the hatcher out, but I'll do it as quickly as I can and spray the eggs before I close it.
Thanks again for your help!
I hatch chickens and I usually leave the chicks in the bator 2-3 days after the first chick hatches. This has worked well for me for many years with no losses due to keeping them in the bator for that long. Is this the same for Cot chicks? I have a lot that have hatched but it's only the first...
Hi~
I'm in Jackson, too! I have some sex-linked females that are about 4 weeks old for sale. I'll also have some Americana females for sale in about a week or so.
I'll send you a private message.
I don't know if you would be interested in these, but I have coturnix chicks that were hatched on 3/17. They are $3 each - straight run.
I'm located in Jackson.
I have a 1 1/2 year old Alpine wether for sale. He is disbudded and very friendly. I kept him as a companion for my intact buck, but the buck doesn't really pay much attention to him.
Please PM me or respond with any questions.
Thanks for looking!
