Monique has been very vocal about everything lately. She knocks over her water and starts in. Silly bird don't knock it over and you have water. She was fed at 5:30 and by 9:30 she's objecting to having not been given what SHE wanted. She wanted fruit and veggies. So she carried on like she...
I dont have a large yard and I dont want all the neighbors' animals trying to come eat them. I rent so I can't put up a fence. And it's a sellers time for houses around here. Not buyers. Buyers get the bad end of the deal. Pay too much and not worth it.
So need a big fenced in yard. I'd love to just let these chicks wander all over instead of being stuck in a run. They don't mind. But I do. I want them to be able to eat more bugs they catch instead of catching them for them or buying them live crickets.
Berries are good, especially strawberries. Chickens love them. Unless they are mine and they fling them across the coop. Raisins are these ladies favorite treat after mealworms and grubs.
She likes one out of three. You couldn't put her with the other two. She's just picky. They have a run on both sides of it. They got along just fine separated how they were. I rehome her and you can send me more eggs for free. Since I will be minus two hens.
I have one very aggressive hen who only likes one other hen. So we have had two small coops with two hens in them. Well one of our hens was stolen. The coop was locked and the cover over the part that can be lifted up was in the exact same spot that it was when I fed them . I don't know what to...
Cooked oatmeal is more nutritious, but of course my chickens prefer it uncooked and thrown in with their regular feed.Oh and they love rasins on top. The baby chicks think a hard boiled egg (mashed up and in an old Oreo yogurt lid) is to stand on to get a better position to get to their food...
NO THEY ARE EVIL. MY LAST TWO CATS DIDNT EVEN CARW FOE THEM. THEY SAW THEM SMELLES THEM AND DIDNT CARE. THEY HAD NO INTERST IN THEM. JUST WANTES TO SEE WHAT IT WAS AND WERE GOOD TO GO. quote name="cavemanrich" url="/t/1050425/chic-chicks#post_16703841"]The cats are not evil....... You can see...
So a friend gave me three chicks. One is a roo. He was the only one left. He is an unknown. They had.moved him around and she bought him. Then she bought 2 pullets from another Farm & Home after I told her they are social birds and have flock mentality and need a flock. So now he has 2 sisters.
for our chicks we had them in a plastic tote and put the feed and water containers on bricks. It didn't keep the bedding out altogether, but kept a lot out. They sure can kick up a mess when scratching around.
I've seen that you should have a variety of breeds for health reasons and also that it doesn't matter. I really like EE and just want to get more. Would having only 6 EE be bad for their health?
