    Araucana thread anyone?

So araucana and ee are not the same right? I have an EE rooster and a hen from him. They are both bearded and she just started laying a beautiful pastel blue egg. I didn't know when I purchased these I'm incubating that they possibly Might be tufted. I want beards, not tufts. :/

I recently incubated about 4 dozen araucana blue eggs. They are due to hatch in 2 days. I am not sure what to expect. We bought the eggs at an auction. I have heard that they are stubborn a lot and most of them never hatch....any advice. Do they all have beards? Some say that araucanas are...

    Moving a broody hen....

Ok so update!!! The hen hasn't been moved and I just went to check on her bc I'm thinking it's close to hatch day and I hear sweet little chirps underneath her. She won't let me touch her so I took her food and water. Most likely she hasn't had them all and I should wait until they are up and...

Our speckled Sussex is sitting 2 yards over on 15 eggs. She's been sitting for almost 3 weeks. We aren't for sure on the day bc she went missing and we honestly thought someone stole her or she was taken by a predator. Anyways she shows up one day to eat so we followed her and found her spot. 2...

    Incubating Araucana eggs....hard to candle.

Day 8. It has lots of specks so I can't tell if the veins are developing or not. We made an egg candler. All but 2 of the araucana eggs we still could really see anything. We were able to tell that one wasn't fertile. The rest are super dark which I'm guessing is good. Out of 40 we still have 33...
