    She is still young enough to lay though getting older. She is secondhand so I'm not sure exact age but I think she's about 3. Would internal laying make her belly soft though. Because it's bloated but not hard anywhere.

    How to save money on chicken feed?

    not sure if this has been answered for you or not but you can just get a 5 gallon fish tank and light and put a beta fish in it and that way you will have the duck weed come spring. Also if you have a kid they will love the fish.

    Thanks everyone for the welcome. I have 7 chickens. 1 rooster that is blue and red, Ameracauna\black copper Moran mix. 1 hen of the same (olive egger). 2 black copper morans. 3 Ameracaunas though I think 2 of them are easter eggers can't tell.
