    Howdy! Day 27 of incubating my first Indian Runners today. Sitting on pins and needles waiting. Hubby is ticked I wont leave the incubator, but these things take time... and its like watching paint dry or waiting for water to boil.... Have 3 babies in there, wish me luck!

    Meet Ramon, 5wks old today! Ive been looking at pics of other 5wk olds and now Im not sure anymore if He's a He or a She! I know the only way to tell is when they lay an egg or crow, but.... any guesses?

    If its not through the membranes then its still breathing via the membranes. Rest easy! She pipped but isnt quite ready yet. I'd hold off, give her some hours, and then listen for chirps and I bet you'll hear her. *hugs* I wish I was there, I justtttttttt went through this in the past 24hrs!!

    Any chirping at all? and did baby pip through the membranes? because if they did, then they can get air, but ideally you'd hear chirping.

    For what its worth, give baby time. I had 3 central pips and waited over 18hrs before doing anything. I know its hard but the reward is Sooo gratifying!

    Amylynn is great for help! take all her advice, she got me through the past 24hrs. I now have 3 breathing chirping chicks. As for "How you'll know" if the baby is shrink wrapped, it boils down to the controversial "To open the incubator and assist, or not to open"

    Ive had 3 pip in the past 24hrs and all three piped wrong spot and Ive had to assit hatch all three. 2 are out and doing awesome, #3 is back in the bator wrapped in a damp towel because its not fully ready. I had to assist because my humidty dropped and vaporlocked them so its been emergency...
