External pip isn't in the right spot, lots of movement but no chirping yet...

Oh wow! Ya thats a tough one to judge!! This ones mine, you can see the black streak, showing it piped through the membrane. I ended up assisting this one this morning at 530am. It piped like this yesterday, and sang all day and night, so I knew I had to make an executive decision. I think thats what it comes down to. You have to use your judgement call on what you're comfortable doing and risking. Only you know what you're capable of. If I were you, Id wait 8hrs to see if the pip gets bigger. If it doesnt get bigger, then its time to make that decision. if it does get bigger, you'll be able to know baby is OK.

There's really nothing you can do but wait. Often, when we try to help, we end up doing more harm than good. The chick may not be completely ready to hatch yet. It may still be absorbing its yolk. I know it's hard, but sometimes they just don't hatch. Or they start and die during the process. There are very few people who get 100% hatches - especially with an artificial incubator.

I went to check on my first egg and someone else has decided to join the party! They are both working away :) and I don't know who, but somebody was making some noise!!!

Now I can't take my eyes off the incubator lol. I know it will be hours still but I'm just so excited!

Now I have that second egg stuck in the same spot. She's through her air cell but not through the membrane. Oye this is too stressful. It's been 16 hours since she pipped.
