Help please. I am a newbie and my chickens keep dying.

I am sorry for your loss and frustration as well. My concern also would be , which in my area anyway, is the transmittal viruses that have been killing poultry in our 4 state region. Wild migrating birds can pose a threat. Make sure there is no run off water that can be accessed, such from...

Why does a chicken make gagging movements with mouth?

I almost thought at the beginning of this thread, twitching meant chocking head back and forth and up and down like mine do. I always thought it was just their way of being interested in what they were listening to. Mainly me. Lol. Oh, and now I brush the teeth before going to see them. 'Spose...

Mine are 13 weeks old, was told they are all female, but one is definitely colored different than the rest. Was told some are of better quality than others, but the feathering was consistent of females. Thought maybe because of the color difference I had a roo.....but nope. Feathering is best...

    When does "pecking order" begin?

I understand and ty. Im a little disappointed in myself that I let my heart get in the way of my head. These chickens are not like the horses and dogs Ive trained. But my compassion for them is golden. And my actions a bit premature. Now Ive just got to work with what Ive created. So far so good...

From jeckle to hyde. Babies getting hurt. Help.

I agree...but seeing the fear and blood spots on them, I couldn't and wouldn't just walk away and let it get worse or deadly. I should also have made my beginning nursery big enough to comfortably hold them all until 4-6wks. That was first mistake. I will try what I've mentioned and let you all...
