my 4 year old eastern gobbler has developed a purple spot on his waddles just wondering if anyone know what this could be??? -

well so far so good....lol
after killing all 42 of my last hatch waiting for them to dry i was a bit apprehensive about todays hatch ......so far 30 have hatched and been moved to the brooder so they already have made it longer than the last ones...lol.... these quail even dried right in the incubator but seem to be... -

i have been eating alot of blt's lately since my home grown tomatoes started getting ripe and i always crack a few quail eggs in the bacon grease when i am done they are like egg sliders....lol -

my 17 day setback is almost over
after my whole last hatch died in the bator while i was waiting for them to dry. i am wondering if that happens again on wenesday can i take wet chicks and put them into the brooder to dry????my chicks always came out nice and dry when i had my sportsman but dont think my forced air hova will... -

well they started laying again after the addition of new birds and a feed switch 10 days ago.heres what adding a few new birds into the pen and upping the protein in the feed from rual king 20%meat bird crumble to 28% buchheit game bird starter(non medicated) did to my girls egg production... -

well i never have had to much problem switching feed before but theres always a first time for everything. i saw one eat an egg the other day so i though that was it. but i went out often today and only found the three eggs and no signs of any shells under the pen so i think they just quit... -
