    Help!!! Baby chick injured

So I happened to come home from the feed store with returned chicks. One of which is injured they said the others have been pecking it to death. It’s missing skin around it’s legs and the whole side underneath it’s wings. I’ve applied blu-kote and vetericyn wound spray to the chick. Anything...

    Roosters a plenty??

For young ees it’s hard to tell by neck feathers. I’ve learned to always look at the booty. If you zoom in you can tell the difference between the buff ee and the red ee. You can see the pointed saddle feathers like the neck.

    Roosters a plenty??

Male for ees don’t look at the hackle feathers, but their saddle feathers. If the saddle feathers are rounder they’ll be females males are very sharp. I can take a few pics tomorrow of my ees to help tell the differences if you’d like.[/ATTACH]

    Unclaimed chicks at Post Office?

Oh gosh, I’d definitely leave a note in their mailbox. They might have been expecting the chicks later or delivered to their house. I’m so glad you rescued them I’d give them a week or two to respond then sell the chicks(for feed cost and electricity.) Hopefully they’ll get in touch with you by...

Making metal shed into coop Help? Ideas and suggestions

As bad as it is I’m giving my dad free range on that he’s got carpeting skills. He does say he doesn’t feel like it would securely be able to put electricity in the location it will be in or put in insulation in for health reasons(rodents.) It’ll be in a cool shady area where I kept my dog in an...

Making metal shed into coop Help? Ideas and suggestions

My aunt gave me her unused shed to make a coop from(yay!) She bought it before she decided to sell her house, but already opened the box. She’s a truck driver and figured she’d save money not owning a house for now. I have 36 chickens. I’m hoping for this to be a cute little house for my silkies...
