Pekings fly under water i think thats what the wings are for i have a big pond when startled or just for the fun of it they go underwater and in nothing flat they are at the other side of pond or the side then all of a sudden they just pop up back again sometimes you can see them flapping thier... -

I live in sw florida so its not that cold 40 tonight i have a heat lamp in case anyone needs it and they have a place to get out of the weather thats dry of course thats where the nests are they are very noisy laying eggs i think there bragging whos the biggest or you been on the nest too long... -

Thanks everyone ill check it out she limits herself in swimming only if she has to and once a day to clean she had scrapes on the bottom of her tail not the top i take pics but none get thru to message she massages her tail but no oil let ya know -

No pics sorry 2 holes at the wing joints rt hole bigger put some salve to cover it kept her on porch seperated for 3 days then out once a day in morn with flock for 2 weeks didnt eat much plenty of vitiman water as she gained strength longer with flock until the holes healed over about 3 weeks... -

I have a Peking duck with an injury a halk tried to to take her foiled by my dog she had holes by her shoulders where she was hit and tried to be lifted and scrapes everywhere She has healed but she isn't making oil for her feathers so she dosent float where exactly do they get the oil betweent... -

This is fla so no big house or barn have a huskey who is their protection at night lots of straw a covered space when weather gets rough fresh water all the time in their enclosure well fresh for ducks food in igloo so it doesn't get wet 2 ponds I think its pecking order who leads and it seems... -

Hey i have 10 female peking ducks they are 4 months old lots of space for nests but they are all picking at each other enough to draw blood only on the wings and no feathers pulled is this normal are they just frustrated with no drake s only the smallest ducks are un harmed -

Eye problems
She was just hatched 2 days ago in a incubator I just put her in the Brooder with the other 4 chicks that hatched before her Her rt eye is not opening all the way it was closed in the incubator but has been getting better not there yet can i put something on it to help I have just tried to put...- no1son55

Food grade DE just add 2 lbs to their food mix it in it powders the crumbles or pellets if you go out of the bag take a cup or 2 spread over top and mix it when you see no more white add more but its 5% of feed no biggy if its too much its all good for them -

Don't know haven't had lice their external maybe put in their dust bath Mine liked to do it in April s flower garden so i came up with a black waterer for horses that had holes so i use that put sand and de in it Chicks love it -
