One of my chickens started sneezing and has a crusty nose. It's been 5 or below here the last few days. Could that be from the cold if acting fine otherwise?
this chicken is about 20-21 weeks. Didn't start developing its comb until about a month or so ago and now our chickens are all laying. This one is extremely loud. But I've never heard it crow. I assumed it was a hen but I just saw it on top of another chicken! Do I have a rooster that doesn't crow?
So should I start giving them oyster shell now or wait until they're laying? Would it hurt the younger one if she ate some? I buy grit however they seem to eat a lot of the gravel from the gravel driveway too
when do I start feeding oyster shell? I have 5 that are 17 weeks and 1 that is 13 weeks. Also, when we start feeding the shell do we still need grit or does that replace it?
I am trying to integrate a new chicken into my flock. She's 6 weeks. The others are 9 weeks. I've had her in a dog crate in the run for a week. She sleeps in the coop with them at night but during the day if she's out with them they're mean! They run after her and peck at her. Is this normal...
