I've been putting my month old chicks outside during day (75-85 during day temps) in their own enclosure to play and forage on our lawn. They enjoy it a lot. Bring them in at sundown and there seems to be no ill effects. They usually just nod out after a day playing. Keep them in pen at night...
Ok, I'll keep an eye on her. She runs with the others so she is active. I'll put a dust bath in the coop for them and see what transpires. Thanks to all for your help.
I have one chick that is constantly burrowing into the bedding. Looks sick or injured, but as soon as I open the gate she takes off with the rest of them. Any worries or laying instinct?
My 3 week olds are putting their bedding in their waterer. Using pine shavings and they constantly are putting it in their water. haven't seen them do it on purpose, but every day it's full. Thoughts?
I bought a used coop and run and it needs some painting done. Is there any certain paint NOT to use? Looks like it was done with exterior flat, but not sure....Thanks
