    *Buff Orpington Thread!*

Thanks for verifying their age!!! I had no idea, they seemed quite "fluffy" to me (I'd say fatty, but am being polite). Seller told me they are from June and they were laying a few eggs here and there, until winter put them off. We shall see how they look in person. I am going to pick them up...

    Are these worms?

Yes. This started after I stopped with medication for cocci. I find one or two of these poops every day for past week. Is that normal?

    Are these worms?

My chickens (1 year old) were on Sulfadimethoxinum natrium due to blood in stool. There has been no more blood since they stopped it, but every day since I have seen 1 or 2 poops in their coop per day that has some stringy/wormy parts. I looked at poo photos here and on other websites, but mine...

    blood in poop

Thanks for your all answers. I see I have lots to learn. Update on the chickens - haven't seen any diarrhea today, nor blood in poop. However, 2 of the chickens spent lots of time under a bush today, especially one that I saw roosted separately last night. She comes last to eat and doesn't seem...

    blood in poop

OK, now I am confused. Give them vegetables or not? They free range whole day so does that not count towards vegetable intake? I know they eat plenty of grass and they completely stripped 2 rosé bushes near the coop.

    blood in poop

I just let them out and have not seen any bloody poop in the coop! However there was one frothy poop and one diarheal poop. Maybe reaction to medicated water? The whole coop was quite smelly with it. Thanks for answering eggcesive and akrnaf2. I will keep a look for reocurrence of bloody poop...

    Basic preventative healthcare for chickens

I am definitely interested in what people have to say about this! I never had chickens before and would like to know what they can have as immunity booster, herbs against moties and other tricks. The only thing I found so far is Braggs against parasites.

    blood in poop

Thanks. We called the vet just after I posted this and he thought the same. I got some powder that they will drink for the next 5 days. I also ordered Braggs to give them in their water afterwards. Its just that the vet didn't perform any tests, didn't even see the poop or the chickens so how...

    blood in poop

We got 4 speckled sussex hens and a rooster a week ago. They are 1 year old. They were kept in a large run at the sellers place and they were not vaccinated. At our place they free range. Anyways, yesterday morning I let them out i noticed there was one poop in their coop that had red in it...
