This is my adorable silkie Cleo, 3 months old! (Still not sure if a pullet ot roo-any guess?)
She absolutely looves jumping to my bed and on my chest, and lay there cleaning her feathers while I pet her cheeks (She loves that!) she also enjoys sunbathing, usually resting her back next to me...
It has done it two times (at least I saw that) but she's still eating. I'll take her to the vet tomorrow, since she does have a bit of watery poop now and then (but that was even before this)
I'll do just like you said and see if she gets any better. Thank you so much for your help!
My 1 month old chick did something weird with her head today. It was as if she were dizzy and her head moved in strange circles. it lasts only some seconds and then she's okay, as if nothing had happened. Is it something to do with her brain? I got really worried, never seen it before in any...
So my beautiful 1-month old Cleo has grown some feathers! Turns out (s)he absolutely loves being held and pet (specially its fluffy cheeks!) It has silkie trates, as you can see. I'm still hoping it will grow a puffy head!*fingers crossed* I am wondering about the gender, since it does not have...
Guys, I still don't know if my chick is a pullet or a roo. It's 3 weeks old, its puffy frathers on its head aren't coming out yet, but she's supposed to be a silkie! Any clues if she will actually grow a puffy head or its gender?
Please help, everyone! So, I have this cute little Silkie chick, but since it doesn't have a puffy head I'm starting to wonder if it was a cross between a silkie and another breed? It's two weeks old, it has silkie traits, though. Here are some pictures :
. Thank you! Your silkies are adorable!
That 's the thing, I have no idea about the rooster. I bought her and all i knew was that her mother was definetely a silkie because I saw her, but I couldn't see it's father. Maybe he was a silkie too, but since I -still- don't see a puffy head I really don't know.
Hello! So my baby chick is now 2 weeks old. Her mother was a silkie but I'm not sure about her father. She has black skin and five toes. But i don't see any puffy frather on her head. Here is a picture of her
Also, is it too soon to know if she's actually a pullet or a crockorel?
Hi Telia, I decided to move ir somewhere else just in case! Since she doesn't seem to lose interest in it I don't really have another choice. And thank you very much:)
She actually eats them, and really seems to like them. Anyways I'll have an eye on her and see if anything happens. She pooped and it was kind of green. So I guess i don't have to worry about it since she is getting rid of it!
Hi! Hope you can help. I bought this little one and it's supposed to be a silkie (it has black skin and 5 toes) but I don't see any puffy feather's on its head, and it's two weeks old. So I am beginning to wonder why! Will they grow or be visible soon? Also, is it a bantam silkie or a regular...
Hi everyone, I have a week old Silkie, and I caught her eating some fern leaves I've got in my garden (don't know how much of them) but she always runs towards it and pecks the leaves, and of course I always take her out of there., she seems to like them. I'm afraid she will die from...
Thank you so much everyone for such a warm welcome. This site has really nice people. I'll post a photo once it's grown up and see if you can help me then. Again, thank you! :)
Hello everyone! I'm Chiara and i'm 23. I had 2 silkie chickens some years ago, and they had a beautiful baby chick, and i named him Kiwi, since then, i became a silkie lover! They are so cute and make great companions :) i bought this little fluffy friend some days ago, and I was wondering if...
